We are very excited to present the exclusive midwest jewelry showing  by Alberto Parada.
Alberto's one of a kind, custom designed heirloom pieces are prized for their
timeless yet modern style. He is recognized as a leading "green pioneer" in the industry.

Alberto Parada was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1968. Shortly after his family
moved to Uruguay in South America. Alberto's father is from Uruguay and his mother is a native of
Paraguay, both of whom are of Italian, Spanish, and Portugese descent.

Alberto has spent the last 15 years in the jewelry business, where he developed an expert knowledge of
fine jewelry, estate jewelry and custom design. In may of 1999 Alberto opened his first retail store called
Parada Jewelry in Washington D.C.'s trendy Georgetown neighborhood, where he specialized in fine jewelry
and designing one-of-a-kind pieces. This initial venture inspired his vision -- to develop and produce
his own line of custom jewelry. Alberto's unique cultural background is the inspriatoion for his design concepts.

Alberto's history and travels to South America have given him an insight into the beauty and quality
of semi-precious stones as well as white and yellow gold. These materials are the foundation of the
Parada Jewelry line. The essence of his line is the bold yet delicate combination of these materials.
His latest joint venture, Smith Parada, an art and jewelry anthology located
in the heart of Georgetown's Canal Square, has finally opened the doors to Alberto's dream
of infusing South American inspired design with cutting edge molding and setting techniques.

Come enjoy the first local showing of beautiful diamond and precious stone jewelry creations inspired
by the unique cultural background of this exciting, internationally acclaimed designer.

HER WORLD IN COLOR -
Now on display at Robert Goodman Jewelers through January, 2008

Amy Kindred uses oil, acrylic, pastel and mixed media to recreate buildings, meadow, rocks and abstract imagery. Far from detailed and realistically rendered, the paintings reveal her fascination with the interplay between color, line and shape.

The artist’s interest remains with revealing depth and at times, simple joy in the fleeting moment.

The show consists of Amy Kindred’s signature approach to making art. Although she works in oil, acrylic and watercolor, mixed media, mainly chalk and oil pastel, is her favorite medium.

“I love the tactile approach to creating art. Wet paint on the end of a brush doesn’t produce as much excitement for me as getting down on my hands and knees with the paper on the floor and literally rubbing the chalk into the fibers. I’m attracted to the grittiness of chalk and to the powerful color it produces. At the same time, there is something fragile about chalk pastel. Although it will last for decades under glass, at any moment it could be wiped away forever. It’s kind of like people and life itself.”

“Her World in Color” is a collection of new abstract compositions for sale and a few representational pieces from her collection. Partial proceeds of all sales will be donated to the Interfaith Hunger Initiative.

Former Zionsville resident, Amy Kindred, returns to the village to share in visual form her recent reflections on life. Kindred lived in Zionsville for two years. She was the director of what was previously referred to as the Munce Art Center from 2000 – 2004. (Kindred’s fingerprint remains in Zionsville. She and three other individuals, including Bob Goodman, launched the first Brick Street Gallery Walk in 2002.)

Kindred taught art for 12 years in Vincennes and Columbus, Indiana and in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She arrived back in Indiana in 2000 in order to pursue work in the field of religion and the arts. She holds a Master of Divinity Degree and a Master of Theological Studies degree with research in art and religion. Kindred received a Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship Award in 2005. The coveted prize is granted by the Arts Council of Indianapolis every other year to 50 area visual, performing and literary artists. Visit Amy Kindred's website CLICK HERE
